TREND: Water Based Facial Moisturizers

LATEST TREND: WATER BASED FACIAL MOISTURIZERS

Water based facial moisturizers have become a fast-growing trend for 2018. No matter your skin type, everyone can benefit from these types of moisturizers. No matter if your skin is normal, combination, oily or super dry, this type of moisturizer can be what your skin needs. Water based moisturizers are pretty awesome, if I do say so myself. They are super light, yet give your skin that H2O boost to keep it hydrated for hours. Keep in mind that there are different types of water based formulas; some are gel-like, crème-based, include hyaluronic acid, aloe, vitamins A and E.

Spring and summer are the best times to begin using a water based moisturizer. With the heat, humidity, pollution and UV, our skin’s moisture barrier can get damaged. And nobody wants that…right? These moisturizers can help the skin appear healthier and softer, giving you that beautiful glow you seek.

Not one moisturizer is going to be perfect for everyone, but if you find the right water based one, it will definitely keep you skin, hydrated, soft and supple.

MOISTURIZERS BASED ON SKIN TYPES

FOR OILY SKIN:

Do you feel like you’re an oil slick and don’t need to use a moisturizer? Please stop thinking this way. If you do not provide your skin moisture, it will overcompensate and continue to produce more oil, making you appear shiny and greasy.

You’ll want to use a lightweight water based (or gel based) moisturizer that is oil-free and con-comedogenic (so we don’t clog our pores).

FOR DRY SKIN:

Is your skin feeling tight and thirsty? You definitely should be using hydrating moisturizer. You are good to use creams, balms and gels, whichever you prefer best and can apply throughout the day.

FOR COMBO SKIN:

Do you have the best of both worlds…oily and dry? Then you gave combination skin, where you’re normally oily in the “T” Zone and drier on the outer regions. You’re going to want to apply a lightweight moisturizer, so more of a gel-based one, to your oily “T” Zone and a heavier, perhaps cream-based one, to the outer areas where you are mostly dry.
