GLASS SKIN TREND
A new trend hitting the skincare scene stems from Korea. It’s called “glass skin”. What is glass skin, you ask? It’s basically a skincare routine comprised of 5 steps taking your skin from blah to super hydrated and radiant. If you want to achieve this “perfect” skin, remember, it takes time and dedication. You have to be willing to go through all the steps before bed, drink plenty of water and get at least 8 hours of sleep.
HOW DO YOU ACHIEVE THIS GLASS SKIN?
We all know that the secret to having good skin is cleansing. You have to get that dirt and pollution off your face from the day. Plus, it just feels so good removing “your face”. A good way to cleanse the skin is to use a cleansing balm. A cleansing balm will help to get rid of all the girt, grime and makeup from the day, while still leaving your skin clean and hydrated.
A serum is a crucial step in this process. You want to make sure that you use a serum that contains hyaluronic acid in order to help smooth and plump your skin. It’s properties provide the ability to replenish moisture into your skin and revitalize the outer layers to improve the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles. Its calming, hydrating, and antioxidant properties are great for all skin types, as well.
In order to get that “glass skin” look, you need to moisturizer. As I mentioned earlier, it’s all about hydration of the skin. You want to make sure that you pick the correct moisturizer for your skin. Check out my post on moisturizers for an idea of what can work for your skin.
Another component to the hydration process…a good mist. Using a good quality facial mist loaded with minerals and antioxidants will help provide your skin moisture and nutrients, too.
And why not add a sheet mask to the mix? A super moisturizing sheet mask rounds off the nightly routine. Use a sheet mask that is made to moisturizing to really push in all the ingredients into your skin. Plus, it’s another layer of moisture to help your skin get to that “glass look”.
